Artist Statement
My inspiration comes from the beautiful Alberta scenery that I love. Travelling around the province with family and friends has provided a vast collection of photographs that are the inspiration for many of my paintings.
I enjoy sharing the beauty of nature with others.
Biography
I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and have spent my entire life in the Edmonton area, including Winterburn, Spruce Grove, and Stony Plain.
My passion for art has spanned 50 years and has included many mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolour and gouache. I also enjoy photography and wood carving.
Over the years I have taken many courses and workshops, including five years of painting instruction from Mr. John Hanley through Edmonton Public Schools Continuing Education. I currently paint with the Pioneer Art Club in Stony Plain and am an active member of the Spruce Grove Allied Arts Council since 2011. I’m also an active member of the Alberta Wildlife Carving Association.
My work has been displayed in solo shows at the Stony Plain Multicultural Centre, Banksiana Gallery in Devon, Royal Alexandra Food Court, and I’ve participated in many group exhibitions including the Alberta Senior Games.
