Discover the captivating world of printmaking with this introduction to linocut printing. In this beginner-friendly, hands-on 4-week evening course. Local artist and printmaker Lisa Matthias will teach you essential techniques of relief printmaking, including transferring images to lino blocks, using carving tools safely and effectively, and processes for inking up and printing your carved blocks onto paper.

Relief printmaking offers endless possibilities for expressive, graphic imagery and creative layering. Each carved block of linoleum can be printed many times over, and in different ways, creating multiple pieces of original art. You will work on two projects: 1) A bold black-and-white print, and 2) A vibrant two-colour reduction linocut print.
